Bible reading: "Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils" 1 Timothy 4:1.
Apostle Paul wrote to Timothy on what he was about to share, laying a strong emphasis on the importance of the message at the opening, letting known that it is not just a mere exhortation, but directly revealed by the spirit of God pertaining the days ahead; that as time goes on, some are going to give up on the faith and chase after demonic illusions put forth by professional liars and pretenders of inspiration. And these sects have lied so well and for so long that they've lost their capacity for truth, Justifying spiritual intentions with imaginary meanings which brings about improper use of God's word, wherefore in one way or the other, forbid as evil what God has allowed and command as duty what God had left indifferent. This is a call to break from advancing the agenda of the adulterated doctrines, Paul said to the young Timothy, I expect you to confront legalism and imorality with truth and right thinking as thou has learned from Christ, be thier ideal, a role model, an example that can be imitated, glorifying the name of God; giving yourself to scripture reading and daily practicing of it's sayings. People are no longer reading the word of God, they rather keep on fooling themselves; and the more they fool, the deeper they fall. I came across those who have studied scripture either at home or in Bible school, just to defend their doctrine alone. They therefore immersed themselves to be rigidly sound in scriptural verses which support their doctrines, weighing knowledge, go for several debates and indulge in arguments. The purpose of the scripture now become valueless to them, they have been silently attacked by the driving spirit and their spiritual life become the former, which have passed away. Also at the ground if defending their doctrine, they are defiling their faiths. It is high time to stop defending to defile. Christ warned us to be cautious, times without number he said we are to watch and pray, but now we have let down our guard, where are we watching? And what prayer are we saying? I don't know, if I am to say that the whole nowadays Christian race has at a point once been unconscious, which gave devil the chance to sow discord and by the time we woke, gaining back our conciouness, we were unable to notice this damage done, but kept watering the wheat and tares untill it became spread and thick tree, bears it's flowers and fruits in season or maybe Satan has started planting his falsehood estate within the Christendom and raising false prophets as Apostle John revealed in Revelation chapter thirteen. Charge the elders and tell the pastors to awake and never do the work of God carelessly. The enemies of the gospel are quick-eyed to spy out on us, searching for our imperfections. Cry aloud and say to the ministers, do not let anyone looked down on God's message because of your behaviour. Principles of God and it's practice must go hand in hand. Admonished the church and teach these things with authority; enough of rebellious life, mass foolishness and divisions in the body of Christ, rather go for a chase of character and right living which identify true Christians. Firm cleaving to Christian truth unite us to Christ, but this truth has been either put on exchange market for trade, sold already or buried. People are no longer reading God's word, while some do listen, read, teach and even counsel but they do not observe it, and so by this incompleteness, they become incompetent and easily fall as prey to the snares of false doctrine facilitators.
We see clearly in the case of Eve, Instead of the word of God to guide her, it was used to seduce her. Paul said, that very command that was supposed to guide him into life was cleverly used to trap him. Satan also approached Jesus with this but failed. The potency of the word is activated by the expanse of its reality to you and this reality is fashioned by the reason of it's acceptance and professing of its truth. The seducing spirit are deceitful, after their reception of deception, comes in at start, distraction and end with total destruction. Their looks and approach may seems pretty dull and lifeless that you will never pay attention to the destructive agent at their back-end. The man of God in 1 kings 13 became a prey. Same goes to Judas Iscariot, he was caught unaware. Is your defense of doctrines not a defense against faith? A man may hold all the truths of Christianity, and yet render them of none effect by holding other doctrines which counteract their influence; or he may apostatize by denying some essential doctrine, though he bring in nothing heterodox. That his their devices. After God had created man in His likeness, the serpent yet talked to eve, "eating the fobiden will make you godlike." God never authored confusion, Satan did. Many are so immersed in their denominational doctrines that they are so full and satisfied with the traditions set, imposed and practiced. If anyone from other religions or an atheist speaks Ill of Christ, they will reply, "may God open his or her eyes to see the truth" but if same insult is strechted to their denomination's founder or to their denomination as whole, they will greatly abuse and nearly curse such.
Several lives have been marched in the marsh, because they have wandered beyond the teaching of Christ, leaving God behind. Misconception is alive in knowing the sound doctrine, which has driven even pastors and drift away ministers of God in other offices from Christ. Many churches have been flourishing on the doctrine formed by human instincts or demons intelligence which by no means have inspirations of the Holy Spirit.
No matter how hard you work for God, your faithfulness is absent, as long as dogma is present. Dogma is a set of doctrines relating to matters such as morality and faith, set forth authoritatively by a religious head or organisation. Let split the definition, it is relating to matters such as morality and faith. that is, it might embraced the moral and/ or the royal law, but it is set by man and not God, the inspiration is strictly from human instinct not from God. They are completely out of touch with the source of life which is Christ.
Brethren, accept this truth and conceive it so as to be freed. Don't allow yourself to be bullied by infantile religion, though they may sound impressive, attractive, and even give the illusion of being humble and religious, but we need to see if they are very refined in spiritual sense holding spiritual significance and God's approval. When you walk out on the teachings of Christ, you walk out on God. If your church doctrines encourage polygamy, worshipping of saints or Angel, if it finds nothing wrong in premarital sex, never believe in rising above sin, to mention but a few, flee from that church, if you get it wrong from there and it sustained till the end comes to you, you get it wrong eternally.
We are salt to season the earth and light to chase away darkness, is that who we are till now? How has the doctrine we held unto contribute to our lives, does it sour our salt or flavour it? Does it dim our light or brightens it? Apostle Paul saw this same influence of thick and gross darkness in Ephesus and he wailed with heaviness of heart, Ephesians 4:20 "But ye have not so learned Christ" Is that the way Christ want you to live Bishops, pastors, deacons, deaconess, evangelist, teachers, prophets, youths, and kids? The unshakable truth is this; the reality of your Christian life is seen through your character with the embodiment of right living. 2 John 1:9 says about the doctrine of Christ, while 1 Timothy 4:1 mentioned the doctrine of devil. It is either of the two, one comes with seducing spirit while the other comes by the inspiration of the spirit of God. The seed of discord had been sown already. It is so obvious, just like it happened in Corinth. I am of wesleyanism, lutherianism, finneyism, redeemers, mountaineer, winners, protestant, baptismal, white garments, arminianism and the rest, is Christ divided? Absolutely no, instead of all these division, it should have been iron sharpens iron, Cain failed, because his countenance fell and he had no one to sharpen it. I am a professor of sound doctrine, what about you? Let's uproot this discord sown altogether and struck devil to shame, we can do all things through Christ that strengthens us.
